Arsenal Agree New Four-Year Contract With £40K-P/W Star

Arsenal have verbally agreed a new contract for William Saliba, confirms Fabrizio Romano. This comes after the Gunners announced new contracts for vital first-team players Bukayo Saka and Aaron Ramsdale in recent months.

Saliba to Put Pen to Paper on New Four-Year Deal

The French centre-back had a highly impressive debut campaign as a first-team regular under Mikel Arteta last season, playing a vital role in helping them compete for the Premier League title before Saliba’s injury derailed things towards the end.

Romano has given his “here we go” to this deal. He adds that documents have been approved by both parties for the 22-year-old to sign a new long-term deal. The London side have also inserted a clause with an option to further extend the contract until June 2028.

Saliba currently earns wages of £ 40k per week, which will likely increase with the new extension.

Saliba Gunning to Make Strong Comeback Next Season

The 22-year-old missed a chunk of the Gunners’ end-of-season matches due to the injury he suffered in their UEFA Europa League Round of 16 clash against Sporting CP. He will be pushing to make a return to form for the London side when they assemble for pre-season training in July and then get back to his fittest when the Premier League starts in August.

Saliba made 27 appearances last season in the Premier League, helping Arsenal keep 12 clean sheets, with the defender scoring two goals.
