Edu may have found Arsenal's dream Granit Xhaka replacement as Mikel Arteta sent Erling Haaland transfer message

Here is your Arsenal morning roundup on Monday, June 5.

Dream Xhaka replacement found

Edu may have discovered the perfect replacement for Granit Xhaka to give to Mikel Arteta in the summer transfer window.

Xhaka scoring on nine occasions from midfield this season means his replacement must also have a keen eye for the back of the net and it looks as though Edu could have found a perfect replacement.

Feyenoord star Orkun Kokcu could leave the Dutch champions this summer and for a number of reasons could be the perfect successor to Xhaka.

Haaland transfer message

Arsenal have been told one of their striking targets who could be on the move this summer is close to the level of Erling Haaland.

The Gunners are more focused on making midfield and defensive additions but have shown interest in Dusan Vlahovic and Lautaro Martinez among others.

The duo have both endured differing seasons in Italy and Mikel Arteta has been told that Martinez has the potential to become his own Haaland if signed this summer.

Guardiola verdict on Gundogan

Pep Guardiola has further expressed his desire at wanting Ilkay Gundogan to stay at Manchester City beyond the end of his current contract which expires at the end of June.

Following the FA Cup win, which saw Gundogan score twice, Guardiola delivered a fresh stance on the German's future and despite not explicitly revealing a new contract offer or his desire to see him stay, the City boss certainly hinted that he does not want the Champions League final to be Gundogan's final game for the club.

He said in his press conference, as relayed on Hayters TV: “He knows what I think. Maybe someone of you know, we are neighbours, we live on the same floor. For many years, he’s a close friend of mine."
