When you're in an interview, it's crucial to maximize your chances of getting hired. Here are two key questions to ask at the end of every interview:
"What is the biggest opportunity currently facing the department I'll be working with?" By asking this question, you not only demonstrate your keen interest in the role but also signal that you are ready to make a significant impact from day one. Basically, you'll hit the ground running.
Regardless of their answer, make sure they see you writing it down. I recommend using a pen and paper. This will convey to the interviewer that you truly want to be part of the solution.
And lastly, put your pen down and lean forward, then ask the interviewer, "In six months time, what would I have needed to accomplish in order to exceed your expectations?"
