Maguire’s move away from Man Utd collapses

West Ham’s deal to sign Harry Maguire from Manchester United has collapsed.

If Maguire leaves Old Trafford this late in the transfer window, it would leave the club little time to bring in a replacement.

Manager Erik ten Hag has always insisted the England defender remains an important part of the squad.

Ten Hag also said he is happy for him to stay and fight for his place.

Maguire lost the captain’s armband to Bruno Fernandes this summer and spoke out about his “extreme disappointment” at the decision.

Last week, West Ham agreed a fee of around £30m to sign Maguire, but the player will now not move to the London Stadium.
