Contest Terms and Conditions
Participation in these Contests is subject to the following terms and conditions:
Account Requirements: Before joining or creating a contest, a user must activate his wallet. Also, a user must enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for enhanced security before he can withdraw his prize.
Joining a Contest: To join a contest, users must be following or become a follower of the Contest creator. The entry fee, set by the Contest creator, will be deducted from the user's wallet. If the wallet balance is insufficient, users will need to fund their wallet to meet the entry fee requirement.
Contest Format: Contests consist of quizzes with multiple-choice questions (options A to D), including the correct answer. Once a participant submits an answer, it is final and cannot be changed. The system will inform participants if their selected answer is correct or incorrect.
Result Announcement: Contest results will be released at the contest's end time and will be displayed on the specific contest page. Once the contest ends, new participants cannot join, and existing participants cannot answer more questions. Participants still answering questions at this time will be timed out and redirected to the contest page to view results.
Prize Distribution: The system will automatically credit the wallets of the winners with their respective prizes from the overall 80% of the entry fees. The contest creator's wallet will receive a 12% share, and the platform will retain an 8% share.
Participant Score Calculation: Now, how do we figure out participants final score? It's like a tournament where you get points for each question you answer correctly. But here's the fun part: the quicker you answer, the more points you get for that question. So, fast and right answers give you more points! We add up all these points from your quick, right answers, and that's your score. The higher your score, the better your position in the contest!
Participant Position Calculation: In our contest, much like in any competition, your position is determined by your score. But, when two or more participants end up with identical score, then the system will use the time they joined the contest to determine the winner. The participant who entered the contest first will be declared the winner. The others, despite sharing the top score, will get their chance in future contests. So, gear up, join contests as fast as possible, give your best answers quickly, and see where you stand on our contest leaderboard.
Entry Fee: A mandatory entry fee, ranging from ₦5 to ₦5,000, is required. This fee is set by the Contest creator.
Winner Selection: Winners are determined by their score, position, and win status in the Contest.
Eligibility: Open to individuals aged 13 or older. Participants under the age of 18 must have parental or guardian consent to enter the Contest. Only followers of the Contest creator are eligible to join and participate for prizes. This encourages non-followers to follow the creator for participation, potentially increasing the creator's follower base. Employees and relatives of MirrorLog, as well as the Contest creator, are not eligible to participate in the contest they create.
By entering a Contest, participants agree to abide by these terms and the decisions of the Contest creator, which are final and binding.
Dispute Resolution: Disputes related to the Contests will initially be handled internally by the MirrorLog team. We aim to resolve conflicts fairly and amicably. If a satisfactory resolution cannot be reached through our internal process, then the dispute may be escalated to an appropriate external mechanism. For users in Nigeria, legal action will be in accordance with the laws of Nigeria. International users may be subject to additional considerations based on their local jurisdiction, and we may seek mediation or other forms of dispute resolution that are appropriate in the context of international law.
