Drake helped the weekend, blow up in 2011 Drake and the weekend met in Toronto. Drake saw Theweeknd Talent so he added him to his album ‘Take Care, and had him open for him on tour. 

Drake even wanted to sign the weekend to his label. But things took a turn for the worst, Theweeknd, signed with public records instead, which Drake felt was a massive betrayal.

Theweeknd also later said that he wrote half of Drake's best album “Take Care” Drake responded by starting to date Theweeknd's ex-girlfriend Bella Hadid, then in 2019, the weekend disses Drake in a verse and said, “I just want a baby with the right one, because I would never be the one to hide one." 

This was a shot at Drake having a secret child named Adonis. 

Drake responded to the beef on his track. Titled W@r, Drake rapped, about Theweeknd, being his close friend on the song. And he said that he just had to talk with him to fix his issues with the artist's fans, and saw it as closure to the beef, but who knows what could happen next?
