Why Talisca Prefers Ronaldo Over Messi: The Simple Reason

The Al Nassr attacking midfielder shared his views on teammate Cristiano Ronaldo in an interview at the weekend.

Anderson Talisca, who has had the rare opportunity to share the pitch with both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in 2023, has revealed why he prefers his Al Nassr teammate over Messi.

In an interview on the ‘Out of the Game’ podcast, Talisca said that he is more of a Ronaldo fan than a Messi supporter. The Brazilian cited Ronaldo’s strong work ethic and dedication as to why he favors the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

“I am more Cristiano Ronaldo than Messi,” Talisca said on Saturday.

“Where he got to and where he is… He has the gift of God, but he is a monster. He works hard and is very dedicated,” the Brazilian continued, before adding: “He worked for that what it is today.”

Talisca also talked about Ronaldo’s surprise visit to his 29th birthday party. It took place two days after the Portuguese star’s arrival at Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia. He admitted to not inviting CR7 to his party when his new teammate first arrived, implying that he was too shy to ask.

However, Ronaldo still showed up at the party, thanks to an intervention from Talisca’s wife, Eloise, and friends. The ex-Benfica and Besiktas star stated that he has always had a lot of respect for the hierarchy of players, adding: “I am always in my corner”.

Talisca finished 2022/23 as the second-highest scorer in the Saudi Pro League, one goal behind leader Abderrazak Hamdallah of Al-Ittihad. He scored 20 goals in just 23 games to help Al Nassr to a second-place finish.
