2 men sentence to 3 month imprisonment for defamation of character
The Karu Upper Area Court in Abuja has sentenced two men, Basil Eze and Awaisu Jibrin, to three months imprisonment each for defamation of character.
The judge, Malam Isa Adamu, also gave the convicts the option of a fine of N10,000 each.
The duo had pleaded guilty to defamation of character, and during the course of police investigation, their genitals were examined by a doctor, who confirmed that they were not "shrunk."
The prosecution counsel, Olarewaju Osho, stated that the crime violated Section 392 of the Penal Code.
