The Jigawa State Government has confirmed the death of ten persons due to diphtheria.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr Salisu Mu’azu, confirmed this in an interview with journalists.
He said that the state has recorded 91 cases of diphtheria in 14 local government areas.
He further confirmed that two more samples from Kazure and Jahun had been sent to Abuja for testing.
The state government is making arrangements for vaccine administration and control of the disease's spread from neighbouring states.
