Pope Francis reiterate for release of hostage taken by Hamas
Pope Francis, leader of the Catholic Church, has reiterated his demand that the Palestinian militant group Hamas release all hostages it has taken in the Gaza Strip, where a ground offensive by Israeli forces is anticipated.
-Pope Francis has expressed his worry about the civilian population of the Gaza Strip, particularly children, the elderly, and women, and has called for humanitarian corridors to be established there to assist the entire population.
In response to the violent events last weekend, in which a Hamas rocket attack on southern Israel resulted in the kidnapping of numerous civilians, Pope Francis has again called for the release of all hostages and the avoidance of civilian casualties.
