The Federal Executive Council has approved a supplementary budget of N2.1 trillion naira to address urgent national issues, including N605 billion for defense and security.
The approval follows a request from the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Bagudu, who said the supplementary budget would also fund critical infrastructure projects across the country.
The new budget is in addition to the initial budget approved by the National Assembly in May, bringing the total approved budget for 2023 to N18.9 trillion naira.
