Twitter threatens to take legal action over Meta's new app

Twitter is upset with Meta, the company behind the social media platform Threads, and has threatened to take legal action. 

Twitter claims that Meta is using its trade secrets and intellectual property by hiring former Twitter employees to create a similar app. 

The tensions between the two companies have been building since Threads launched as a rival to Twitter, attracting millions of users who are seeking alternatives to the platform. There are now over 55 million Threads users.

Meta denies the accusations, stating that none of its Threads engineering team members are former Twitter employees. Twitter has warned Meta to preserve relevant documents for a potential legal dispute.
